Making The Layout

Are you Looking for the answer, How To Get Started with your Architectural planning? Than you are at Right place.

Today we'll discuss about how to make Layout plans for foundation of your project.

Layout planning, is essential step for engineers and architects to start with there imagination. It is like making a sketch before you fill the colours in a drawing. Layout planning help you to illustrate your thoughts on paper.

What is layout planning?

Layout planning is systematic distribution of available area to facilitate the requirements of client.

In Other words, 'Layout planning is a tool that allows you to decide best physical arrangements of required elements in an available boundaries of the land.'

Layout planning is not limited to civil engineering, it's rules, apply in every field where you need a systematic distribution of all available resources to achieve maximum output, which will vary according to your application.

For example:

1. Your City management is distributed in Layers and the thread which keep them together is based on planning, That is called Layout planning of City.

2. Your Mobile phone Runs on a System, which is called VLSI Layout Design.

3. BluePrint of your House is Layout Plan.

4. Arrangements of furniture in your house is Layout Plan.

Every step that includes a Systematic approach to achieve better results is Layout Plan.

Today we'll discuss about how this layout planning help an engineer to achieve better results in construction field and as you read you'll know how essential it is for you to learn this topic, TO EARN MONEY.

I'll try to Answer this, how it helped me to earn Money ๐Ÿ’ฐ, in 5 Simple Steps.

For that I'll take reference of my Latest project in Barmer.

The Plot Size is:
A 27'7"
B 50'
C 23'5"
D 49'9"

You see there is no same faces in Quadrilateral, so we can say there is Guniya in plot. We need to keep this in mind and plan accordingly for best results.

(Guniya:-  In an Unsymmetric
Quadrilateral, that area which remain extra after trimming the available plot for making it symmetric.) I also explained the Guniya in previous post.

1. Decide the Boundaries:

Every topic starts with a definition and defining boundaries for land is Starting for our Project So all you have to do is:

Open your AutoCadd and Define the Units of your drawing.

Once you set unit as Feet and Inches, Draw the Rectangular shape, with exact length of each side carefully. Keep in mind as the shape is unsymmetric all arms of Rectangular should be perfectly measured and also angle between two arms should be perfect else it'll result in wrong calculation on site.

To measure the angle use step below:

1. Mark the 4 end of plot, defined in Government Documents.

2. Pick one end & use Pythogoras theorem by making an angle of 90° between two arms colliding a your chossen end.

3. Once you mark your first point on land, use a thread and connect remaining points with reference to measured first point.

Note: This step is not easy however you've to practice to achieve perfection level. You must visit ongoing site around your areas.

In this first step all 4 arms are defined with correct angle between them. It concludes defining boundaries of land.

Let's move on to next step.

2. Draw Every Possible Outcome:

Once you get the exact shape of the land you just have to put together your mind to make sure you draw every possible placement of demands.

For example if a Client demands:

3 Bedrooms
1 Kitchen with storage
Parking for 2 bikes
Duplex living room
Plot size is already mentioned above.

Now remember your next step is to Finalize the hidden requirements first which is necessary in every home. Some of them are as follow:

"Water tank
Water storage
Bathroom
Drainage system
Stairs
Margin for Walls
Ventilation system"

The will change according to your plan, you'll learn it in next phases. Keep the Requirements clearly in mind and you can draw the best outcome in short time. Try to draw atleast 3 option for a single project n make sure to facilitate every demand for customer in it.

Make layouts untill you feel "this the best, I can convince the client to live in this house."

3. Pick The Best

Planning on AutoCadd conclude your calculations part, now you've 3 or more Layout of house in your hand and you've to pick one to make sure you grab the project and get the money from customers pocket.

When you made plans for you every option is perfect however you have to choose one if you pick a perfect plan easily than it is good if not there is tactics to pick something from verity of options.

1. Changing your perspective:

Imagine yourself an owner and try to reject the plan by picking minor or major mistakes in plan, you may find some or maybe not but it works for 70% Designers.

2. Observe the surrounding

If you're not sure which plan is best visit client site again and watch surrounding.
You'll find some inspiration from the standard of living of that area.

4. Read the Final Layout, Remove Drawbacks:
5. Present it with Enthusiasm:
